Whoopsies! I meant to spell it "Reid," not the way I have it. That was just a typo.
Answer:
Warren: 6/10. Sounds smart, but not that attractive.
Gabe: 2/10. I way, way, way prefer Gabriel, with Gabe as a possible nickname.
Ellis: 2/10. Total last name...it doesn't appeal to me as a first name at all...there's no strength or masculinity to it.
Harlan: 6/10. Makes me think of Harlan Ellison, who is an awesome writer, but (from what I've heard) a fairly unpleasant person. I'd prefer it as a middle name.
Cal: 2/10. Too nicknamy...I'd prefer Calvin, with Cal as a nickname.
David: 10/10. I love this...it's a great masculine classic, and can fit any type of guy. Almost every adult Dave I've met has been hot...
Ried: 1/10 with this spelling...it looks like it should be pronounced "ride" as in "ride it, baby!" Reid would be slightly better, but I still think it should stay a last name.
Xavier: 10/10. Love it! It's classy, unusual, and sounds both attractive and intelligent...everything I look for in a name.
Quinton: 9/10. Very unusual and classy. Quint would be a great nickname, too.
Elaina: 9/10. I like it even more spelled Elena, but this is still a lovely, elegant name.
Nolee: 2/10. Sounds made-up and extremely underprivileged...I picture a skinny, suspicious-eyed girl who lives in a bayou, catches frogs to eat, and communicates in chirps and whistles.
Margot: 10/10. Very chic, elegant, and sophisticated-sounding, as well as uncommon.
Celine: 8/10. A lovely name, but makes me think of Celine Dion. I prefer Selene, which sounds the same but makes me think of the Greek moon goddess (it's an older name for Artemis).
Marielle: 8/10. Very pretty...I'd prefer the spelling Mariel, though, like Mariel Hemingway.
Arianna: 5/10. Too modern and flashy for my personal taste, but still pretty...I just prefer more sophisticated-sounding names.
