God, The Government or The Boy Scouts

Who do you trust your luck or survival preparedness plan to?  I pray to The One that nothing bad happens to my family and friends, but I was in scouting.  Be Prepared.  Look up “Katrina” and tell me you rely on the government to arrive quick enough.

 Here is the Most Powerful Survival Lesson: We Are Responsible for Our Lives.  Trust this last point.  The government has no Disaster Survival Plan to find you specifically.  It could be days or weeks before medical help arrives.  If you live by faith, remember an old adage, “God helps those who help themselves.” 

Ying – Yang is the answer to the question “How Should I Approach Emergency Survival Planning?”

When making a survival plan, Find a Sane Balance!  When some folks finally realize, “You couldn’t last a week without utilities,” they very often panic. 

Lesson Two: in a Disaster Scenario, Panic Can Kill You and Everyone You Love.  Ouch!  Can you learn to balance enjoying every day life - but actively build a set of survival skills and gear - without losing touch with The Miracles and Beauty of Life?  Ying – Yang emerges because to learn major survival skills, you will get back in touch with true nature. 

I Don’t Want to Think About Sad Things.

Yes – people dying is sad.  Our Most Powerful Lesson says,  “We Are Responsible.”  A simple example: You and your best friend are in a car wreck on a lonely road.  Your friend is hurt.  First Aid is whose task?  Yours!  Then who should take a community first aid class?  Car, Health, Homeowners and Life insurance present only a few ways that wise people make a survival preparedness plan for normal disasters.  Since you might be on a lonely road with a friend, --- or Earthquake, Windstorm or … got it …?  Check your local Red Cross for classes.

Action Is The Key To Success

Wisdom Teaches: Knowledge Without Action Is Wasted.   Step One can be challenging – self evaluation.  Honestly analyze your family’s situation.  What do you know skill wise?  Martial arts, animal skinning, fire making, etc?  How long could your family survive after a large disaster if the Utilities are gone?  Your family’s sanitaion will be one of your major problems.  You need a plan.  Start with a Survival Checklist at Emergency Planning List. 

Going Into The Wildness? – Hire Someone who Knows the Area

Benjamin Franklin called that “Sharpening Your Axe” – Do things in the right order.  IF you are going to hack down a tree and have four hours, spend the first three sharpening your axe.  Before You Hours and Dollars on the unimportant or ineffective items,  Read What Professionals have to say.

Invest Your Time and Money Wisely

If you think education is expensive, lack of knowledge can kill you.  Study.  But … what’s important?  When I realized my survival skills, preparedness supplies, and disaster survival plan were weak, I too turned to online survival Professionals.
